Birthday Countdown and Preparations!

30 days until my birthday!

Fish and I commissioned a song in honor of our 3rd birthday from Ginger "Gingie the Cat" Blakely of Batesville, Mississippi. Because we were born the day before Katrina the Hurricane blew away everything, Gingie turned Mr. Morrison's song into one about us. All rescue kitties remember the Storm. Dubbie says the song is "dark" for a party song.

Be sure you sing this loudly and bluesy.

Kittehs On the Storm (adapted from Jim Morrison's Riders on the Storm, 1971)

Kittehs on the storm
Kittehs on the storm
Into this house we're born
Into this world we're thrown
Like a cat without a cookie
An human out alone
Kittehs on the storm

There's a killer on the road
Katrina's squirmin' like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your kittens play
If ya give Katrina a ride
Sweet memories will die
Katrina on the road, yeah

Meow!

Kittehs on the storm

Gingie is very wise. I'm glad that you and Fish and other rescued animals survived that awful storm and I pray every day for people and animals who did not.

Your special birthday is a good reason to have an extra special party.
